Sharing What You Love

Artist at work
While I sit and paint on a river rafting trip, sometimes another member of the group will say, "I wish I could do that."  Nothing can lift the heart of a a former art teacher more than that statement!  My reply is always, "Well, you can.  Let me show you how."

Please meet JoAnne Allen, daughter of an artist, who started painting with me on a river trip and is now taking classes from several outstanding artists in Albuquerque and paints with me regularly as well, both on the river and at my house.  JoAnne is a retired dentist who is exploring all manner of activities now that she has the time.  She and her husband are planning to build an off-the-grid house like ours in Buena Vista, Colorado.  Will document some of their adventures with that project in upcoming posts.

  1. I was always led to believe that you either have it or you don't. It's not true. There is so much to learn that will vastly improve the talent that's not yet discovered.

    She's doing a great job!

    1. Yes, I frequently hear, "I cannot even draw as straight line" to which I reply...here is a ruler!
